blah blah

I didnt really do anything last night of note but cleaned the house more. I re-watched NCIS because I couldnt remember if I had seen it. I had. Then we were in bed at like 9:30.

Jake enjoyed his first day of summer camp, today they are going to the movies - Over The Hedge I bet, which he saw last week, but thats ok.

Tomorrow is my ultrasound. Yippee.

Tomorrow is also the first day of hurricane season. Lets pray that nothing terrible happens, especially to the parts that are still recovering from the bad ones in the past couple years.

Tonight I would be going to a yarn winding party at Tracie's house but Travis is home with his shift slide, and i'm making schnitzel instead, sorry ladies. But YUMMMMO.

No clue for Friday yet, we'll see what happens. Either way, I'll be happy because I have wanted to do a pottery thing for ever! But Jellyrolls is always fun.

Babyland: Baby weighs .04 ounces or 1 gram, and is .64 inches or 1.6 cm in legnth. Yep, beanish.

Oops. I forgot.

Babyville, today is 8 weeks, Baby is the size of a coffee bean! And I have to stay away from diet drinks & foods containing aspartame or saccharin. See, regular coke IS better! I know,I know, but i'm at only 1 a day which is well within the 2 cup of coffee boundary. 5 cans of coke have the same caffine as 2 cups of coffee. But i'm only having 1. See... very good. I usually have a shirley temple if we go out, or de-caf tea at home. Did you know that regular iced tea has more caffine than soda? Neither did I. weird.

Anyway, I have 3 more rounds to go on the baby blanket. Then a border. Probably a rsc border which is a pain but pretty. I have about 2 more short rows on bootie(2) then the sewing up. Wonder if I will make a whole going home outfit? Hrm. Guess I need to wait to see if its a boy or girl first, huh. Yeah, thats what I thought.

Guess that's it for now. Have a fantastic day. As for me, I'm just thrilled to pieces that I can say my baby is as big as something. Yes, it's only a coffee bean (one in theory) but it makes me happy nonetheless.

My weekend

This weekend was a blast, and I have some pictures to prove it!

Friday - My mother in law made spaghetti, and I was obliged to eat it, even though I was meeting Tracie at Tias before the yarn winding commenced. It was very good, and I was full when I left, which wasnt good. Got to Tias, we werent sure if Ray was meeting us, got us some queso and frosty beverages (Shirley Temple for me thankyouverymuch) and chatted a bit. Ray was stuck at a work thing but was still planning coming. We saw a lady with very big hair. You will have to excuse the bad pic, but my phone gets confused by lights sometimes.

Can you see that big poof of white? There, above the half wall, yeah that's it. Scary. The wait staff was making fun of her. We were making fun of her. It was humerous. Unfortunatly she had left by the time Ray got there, or he would have laughed too. I showed him the pic though.

Anyway, we had fun, Ray had one of his buds meet us up there, but I had to go. Apparently Ray, his friend and Tracie stayed at Tias until loud people took over, then went to Denny's until late. A good time was had by all.

Saturday, I cleaned, went shopping, thats about it. Sorry.

Sunday, I cleaned, went shopping, we ate at Subway for lunch, went home, started cooking, and waiting. Jake spent a good majority of the day sitting in a little plastic chair in the entryway of the house waiting for Tyler (age 5). This started at 9am. Party started at 6. It was humerous. Tracie got there first, which was good because she was early and I put her to work. Then Hans and Kerry made it - straight through from Atlanta, and they brought me peaches. Which is handy since this year my peach tree went on strike. mmmmm, peaches. Anyway, lets see, Tony, wife Nette, Tyler and baby Bailey came ( and of course I am a dumbass and forgot to take pics. she is so cute, that baby)(no really, a beautiful baby). Bridget, Jason & Stacy, think that's it.

Funny things:
*I dont know how to make potato salad, wanted potato salad, was thankful that a couple southern gals did know how, and were able to improvise with less then perfect ingrediants. Also, I should have thought about making potato salad BEFORE everyone got there. It was yummy.

*I got tipsy off being around drunk people. It was funny to me when Tracie pointed this out, but she was right.

*Jake did not like the "grown up jello", and half of his ended up on the floor.

*Jake had some of the boudin (of course without me seeing him) and came back in with it in his hand saying "Mommy, I dont like this chicken".

*I finally convince Tony to actually be a bartender at one of my partys and I cant drink. Urg. Everyone else was happy though. I think he was having fun doing it too.

*I was concerned for the crab's hearing, since they are on top of one of the stereo speakers.

Now some pics:

(Tracie & Hans, Bridget & Kerry, Me - self portrait, Kerry maybe a little tipsy)

Tracie thought that I needed to bring the sock out. I do not have a sock in progress, so I brought out the last one I did:

Tracie and the sock, Tracie wearing the sock with Hans' foot, Bridget and Jason "what's up with the sock". I tried to make them understand.

Travis acting, uh, normal with the jello shooter things.

Jake not wanting his pic taken. He was tired and needed a nap.

I passed My test!!!!

See, if you study hard enough you CAN pass a sugar test. They made me do it early because i had gestational diabetes w/Jake, and I passed. YEEEEEEHHHHAAAWWWW! No more vampires in my future.

Just a tad excited, cant ya tell?

I'm sick-ish,

And it sucks. A lot. I have that gack in my throat spitting up yellow shit stuffy nose crap, and it does not make me happy. Why? Because I cant take squat! Of my little bitty list of stuff i can take, the only things somewhat applicable are plain sudafed and throat lozenges. We shall see if they work. Is sudafed the sleepy one? I cant remember. I may have to go to cvs shortly to get some.

Yesterday I got a bit done on the baby blanket, only like 4 more rounds then a border. I will work on it more at lunch today but not tonight since i'll be at Tias.

Actually, i wont be able to do anyting on it for a bit since i have a little gathering on Sunday at my place and I need to clean. Ugh, with the cleaning. However, Travis did say he'd hang my new lamp. I have coveted my in-laws dining room lamp (tiffany style w/little purple & blue flowers... I KNOW!) since i've known them. And she's always said that if she finds a lamp that she likes then i can have that one. Well, she did, and I got it! Now it's in a box in my kitchen waiting for Travis to hang it. I cleaned the top of it (the part that I could see in the box) and once it's hung i'll clean the rest of it. LOOOOOVE it.

babyville: Embryonic sac continues to fill with amniotic fluid to protect the baby.

Have a great weekend.

Second Breakfast

Yep. I had a second breakfast. This morning before work I had a bowl of frosted flakes. 10:15 and I'm starving, I had a packet of oatmeal (yes, cooked). 2 breakfasts. See, I coulda stopped for that smoothie after all. I just didnt think i'd drink it. Guess I'm somewhat delusional.

Lunch was Sweedish Meatballs, even though I did have a mac n cheese in there - passed it up 2 days in a row! That is some kind of record.

And now, since no one in my office went to Wendy's I am eating cookies. I have been wanting a frosty for a week now and no one has gotten me one. Why dont I get my own? U-turns, 2 of them. You know, i Tulsa where I got my driver's license you werent allowed to make U-turns. I'm just sayin.

Dont know what Jake will want for supper tonight, last night it was a taco again, I had a quesadilla. Maybe the kid wont be a bowl of queso per say, just a Mexican. Hrm. Dessert - bread & butter pickles. No, really. 2 baby bowls of them. and they were GOOOOOD. All 3 of my chat buddies were laughing at me. Out loud i'm sure, even though I couldnt hear them through messanger.

So my dear friend T has been searching for a good rebound guy for a while now, and just told me that "although you are a lot of fun, you wont make out with me and dont have boy bits" and that made me laugh out loud. I promised her I wouldnt say that on here but she said it was ok, because I find "boy bits" hysterically amusing. It's sad, really. We'll find her a romeo, who is not an asshat, nor psycho, nor stupid. And after her buying all the beers for so long, he must be able to pay for happy hour. Picky, I know, but hey, she's my friend and I luuuv her! (In my head that sounded like Gracie on Miss Congeniality and that was amusing too)(boy bits)(hehehehehe).

Friday night she and I will have queso and I may or may not help her wind yarn, depends on if any, um, boy bits show up, since I promised boy bits that if he did show up that no yarn would be involved. I'm nice like that.

Nothing in babyville to report cept that I hate my breasts. That is all.

Because I am, perhaps, stupid

Yesterday I told the world (well, all 4 of you) that I was pleased that the craptastic feelings were limited to the evening, and I don't have morning sickness. Might as well had put a Kick Me sign on my back for the universe to take aim at. No, I haven't yet thrown up (see, learning not to speak in absolutes). However, RIGHT AFTER I posted yesterday... I started feeling crappy. This morning, crappity crap crap. Tums is my friend and I love it dearly.

Lets see, yesterday at lunch I did not crochet on the baby blanket, I did the Newsletter mailing.
After work I got Jake from school and went to Kash N Karry to discover that I wanted cookies & cream Edys, bread and butter pickles (no, not at the same time) and black cherry yogurt. Jake wanted tacos for supper. Sold.

So as I was cooking dinner (such a strange term for nuking pre-made taco meat and a spoonful of refried beans in 2 soft tortillas, but whatever) Jake asked, very politely with May I and everything, if he could put on the temp tattoo from his lunchable, and next time he wants to put it on his leg. Sure, Jake, no problem. Can I put it anywhere? (thinking about leg tattoos on the last day of school) Sure son, that's fine.

Guess where it was. Go ahead, guess.

His forehead. No, really.

Um, Jake, you are NOT going to school tomorrow with a Pirate tattoo on your forehead. I dont care if I did say you could put it anywhere, that does not mean your forehead. Yes you can leave it on tonight but in the morning it comes off. Yes before you can show it to your friends at school. Yes I understand that you think it's cool. No, you really cant wear it to school. One... Now, go eat your taco.

Travis woke him up this morning for me while i was getting out of the shower and came in and said "Is that a temporary tattoo on our childs forehead?". Um, yeah but it's coming off this morning. Oh, ok.

And let me tell you - those things are hard to get off. Water and a washcloth, soap and a washcloth, baby oil and a washcloth - they dont really work too well. A scary combo of all of them with a lot of rubbing worked at removing the tattoo and 4 layers of his forehead skin. It was very pink. And also, there was tattoo in his hair. Then baby oil in his hair, but only the front. I probably should have tried harder to make that go away, but a) its the last day of school b) we were running out of time c) I am lazy, and will give him a shower tonight.

I voted for Kat, and dialing non-stop for an hour netted me 1 vote. Darn busy signal. Oh well.

Babyville: Cells of the liver, pancreas, stomach, and lungs begin to take shape.

It's sad really

I didnt pick up yarn at all yesterday. Not at lunch, not at home, at all. Today I brought the baby blanket to work on at lunch time, so that's at least something. I think it's because I've been feeling so crappy at night - not in the morning. I just lay on the couch covered up in an afghan feeling like crap. crappity crap crap. Too bad I cant feel like crap here at work and feel good at home. Oh well.

Today in babyville: 7 weeks! baby is really really tiny, like baby pea sized. But thats still really cool.

Sleepy sleepy. That's it for now.

The weekend

Lets see, Friday Jake was sick so I went home early when Travis had to go to work. Poor little guy, he was throwing up a lot. Maybe he's having sympathy nausea? I was supposed to go to a pleasure party but stayed home with Jake and watched some tv. He went to bed really early. I finished up the sweater except for making and sewing on a pocket which i havent decided on yet. I was worried because there is no more Mainstay's at walmart and I got a RedHeart that I thought looked pretty close. It was a perfect match. I didnt think I HAD that much luck. I have most of the ends woven in which is good. Sat Jake was still a little under the weather, but I told Jake we'd go to the Party store to pick out his birthday stuff. Pirates.... again. This time it's Pirates of the Carribean. We got a pinata. He is thrilled about that. Now I need to figure out what to do for a cake. I am NOT doing the fancy schmancy cake I did last time, that was a lot of work! Maybe they have a Pirates sheet cake at Publix, we shall see.

Sunday after church we went to MOSI to see the Bodies exhibit. It was really cool, and Travis and I enjoyed some time out, alone. Then we went home, took a little nap and Travis cooked steak on the grill. Yummo.

This morning I had to take my sugar test. YUCKKKKKK. I hate that stuff. I just pray that I pass and dont have to do the 3 hour one, then get poked every week. I used to look like a junkie with all the tract marks on my arms. Travis also took my car in for the ac to get fixed. Yippee! It sucks ass to not have ac. My blower blows (not on 1 or 2, but on 3 and up) and its a constant fight to make it stay on ac - and I usually lose the battle. So after today it will be better.

In baby news: Buds on ends of embryonic arms and legs grow into webs that will become fingers and toes. Blood circulates throughout the embryo.

Sickies, fat clothes, babyland

Jake was up last night with a fever with Travis. This morning at 6 he started crying that he threw up on his pillow, and he did have a bit of a fever but since i didnt know at the time about his last night fever i didnt think anything of it really. At 6:40 he was on the potty thinking he had to go but couldnt and kept throwing up while sitting on the potty. So, no school for him today. Travis doesnt have to be in to work until almost 2 so I will leave here at 12 for a half day and stay home when Travis leaves. Poor little guy, no clue what his issue is.

Yesterday I went to Motherhood in the mall and spent $80. 1 shirt, 2 capris and a shorts set. I told travis to get my maternity clothes out of the attic so i can wash them and go through them. When I told him that I would need to get more he didnt understand. Well, I will be pregnant in a different season than when I had Jake. "So it's about fashion?" Uh, no. I had Jake in June, which meant mostly winter clothes. This baby is due in Jan which means mainly summer clothes. Weather seasons. Silly boy. However one of the gals from choir is giving me her maternity clothes too so thats good. My problem is that my jeans which are normally tight anyway... need rubberband help to close. And the shirts that I normally wear - you know, the tight ones... show the belly too much. eewe. So today i'm wearing my jeans (closed w/a rubber band) and the new shirt from Motherhood. I have 2 no-waist dresses and a pair of gouchos that will last me a good long time because they are so stretchy (and almost fall off me now...). My clothes shouldnt be tight on me yet, but since they started out pretty tight, thats not good.

Today in babyland: 6w3d - Embryonic sac continues to grow - millions of villi attach to the placenta.

Wednesday

I worked a bit on the bootie, and the baby blanket and didnt finish either one. Went to Tracie's "office" for crochet/knit group. This is what it looks like to have people knitting in Master Control of a PBS station...

Hysterical, yes? So many little buttons and tv screens and such. It was fun. And I got to show them both how to correctly cast on and fixed a bit of the knitting. Come in complaining about how crappy your knitting looks and I will have you leaving saying "i'm knitting the cutest little scarf". Dani took some other pics, that I will post once i get them. I tried the sweater on Tracie to check the fit and it looks nice. I will be going to walmart tonight for groceries and the yarn to finish that. yippee.

At home I watched Elliot get the boot from idol and did the happy dance. That boy should have been gone weeks ago. I am still going with Kat but I also am not delusioned enough to think that she will win. However on Tuesday when I tried to call in to vote for her I was not able to get in even once. I thought that was a good sign. After idol I stayed up to wait for Travis and we watched Bones. I thought it was a good one. I like that show, and I am already used to Angel not being Angel anymore.

Nothing cool on the baby calander today. Wonder if there is online advice for beating the sugar test? hrm.

13 Baby things
13. My Doctor does not do VBACs and I am thrilled to pieces with this bit of information.
12. They do the scheduled c-section at 39 weeks which puts me at Jan 1 – wonder if I can sweet-talk them into 12-30?
11. My mother-in-law will “get excited about it later”.
10. Bitter much? Yep, especially since strangers on the blog are excited already.
9. We had chosen Emily Rose as our first girl name before we were married and I don’t know if I should change that. The other girl name we picked was Lila Cate.
8. We had chosen Garrett something for a boy, but that has changed to either Shawn or Joseph. Or Shawn Joseph. Or Shaun or Sean. Not sure yet.
7. Jake is looking forward to “being the boss of the baby”
6. Jake is also in charge of teaching the baby to do arm-pit farts, swim and go to Disney.
5. Fortunately for me, I will be exempt from the traditional shot of Patron at Convention with my co-workers. That stuff tastes like ASS!
4. Unfortunately for my co-workers, I will not be able to be at SuperShow which starts Jan 17. Whoops.
3. That upsets me a bit, since a) I love the OT & b) I love the excitement and people
2. What I have not had in nausea I have made up in sore-boob-edness
1. I love being pregnant.

what an adventure

We went to have an ultrasound this morning at 9:45. The baby sac is in my uterus, which is good, meaning it's not eptopic again, so death is not eminent - yippee. They said it measures at 5 weeks 2 days instead of 6 weeks 2 days that my period dictated, meaning that baby took it's sweet time implanting. They could barely see a yolk sac (what ends up being the placenta), and nothing looking like a "fetal stem" so they are having me back in 2 weeks. By then, we should see a baby bud with a heartbeat, i will be 8 weeks, or 7 by the measurement.

I hope this doesnt throw off my chances of having a december baby, we'll see. Doc did say that all in all it looks like a healthy pregnancy so we were thrilled.

Nothing good on the calander today, just gibberish called "personal reflection" where some mom says something blubbering about motherhood. I'll save you from that.

I didnt get a ultrasound pic, but i'll try to get one next time.

Urg

So remember that WHOLE OUTFIT that I made my friends baby with the dress and jacket and booties and hat? The one I BEGGED for a pic of for, oh, 5 months now? Yeah, Got one.

"I'd have taken another one but her shoulders are too big to fit in it anymore." And I think he mumbled something about not being able to find the dress. At least I got a pic of it on the doll.

She is cute though, huh. That's Bailey. The friend is a bartender. Appropriate, I thought.

Lets see, I sewed together the shoulders and sleeves and sides of the unfortunate sweater when i ran out of yarn. I still need to add the collar, cuffs and pocket (that i also need to make). So, it looks like i'll be heading to Walmart tomorrow, since tonight is crochet group and i cant go then. I will probably bring the baby blanket and little bitty bootie with me tonight to work on.

Well, that's it for now.

Tuesday, May 16, 2006

You must be smarter than the equipment you are trying to operate.

SO its not that the pictures werent on the disc Travis gave me, it's just that I couldnt find them because I'm a dumbass. I'm better now.

Butterfly Porn:

Dread Lock dude (yes dude):

Stephanie & Pete's going away party at Carrabbas:
We'll miss her cheerful ways and his mild mannered humor.

The rest of the gang:
Joe & Dani , Amber (Stephanie's replacement) & Tracie & I

And now the pics you've all been waiting for: It's Davy Jones!

When I was a kid watching the Monkee's on Nickelodeon, I had the biggest crush on Davy Jones. I did not know that what I was watching was 20 years old, making Davy old enough to be my dad. OOPS.

Some stuff

Well, the pics that Travis gave me are not the pics from Sunday, so you'll have to wait a little longer for the butterfly porn.

In baby news - today is 6 weeks: Babies heart starts to beat, though it's almost impossible to hear. I'll post these from my pregnancy every day that something is happening.

Also, I went yesterday for my OB appt, and they did another blood test. I do think they may be vampires since they took 7 vials. 7! I had to wait until my Quant # (baby hormone level) was above 2000 for my ultrasound. Last Fri it was 98, then Monday it was 334. It's supposed to about double every other day, so it should have been around 2100-2200 yesterday. It was 4114. If there are 2 in there, Travis is going to have a coronary. I'm just saying. My Ultrasound is scheduled for tomorrow at 9:45. After that is done I will feel better knowing that everything is ok.

I worked on bootie 2 yesterday at lunch, it should be close to done today. I also brought the leftover yarn to sew together the unfortunate sweater. I did not find another skein of it in the closet this morning (mind you it was in the dark but, whatever), so i'll have to be pretty creative. And no pockets it looks like. I'll work on that at lunch today, and tonight i'll run to walmart if i need more yarn. This morning I did a couple rounds on the baby blanket too. I've got about 20 of the 30 rows done.

That's it for now.

Monday, May 15, 2006

The best laid plans...

spoiled by stupidity.

So i brought in the unfortunate sweater to sew it together today at lunch. No, really, I did. However, I did not bring any yarn to sew it together with. Oops. But in my rolling tote o' wonders, I pulled out the brangelina hat and worked maybe half row, then remembered I had the other half a bootie in there. So I worked on that, realized I screwed up, frogged then restarted it and now it's going swimmingly. I have not cast on the other sock, which is very good for me. I am a bit suprised, but thats ok.

Well, thats it for now. I should have pics from this weekend tomorrow. Funfunfun at Epcot. Great people watching, butterflies doing it on my finger, and Davy Jones. Lotsa cool stuff.

Til then.

Babybabybabybaby

Jake's mama has a baby in her tummy. He is thrilled. He got to tell Travis' parents, my parents (both sets), our neighbor, Uncle Jason, we'll see who's next. I'm due Jan 8, minus about 10 days for the csection puts me at new years eve or new years eve eve. Fantastic for the tax benefits, but Christmasy birthday people tend to hate it. Sorry kid.

We go to the doc today for more blood work and hopefully i'll get my ultrasound today or tomorrow to make sure baby is in the right place. Fingers crossed and lotsa praying please.

Today on the pregnancy calander is: Hello in there! The inner ear is forming. Cynics say it doesn't matter but sining to baby can be fun and enjoyable - so sing your favorite tunes.

That is all. Hope ya'll had a great mothers day too.

Friday, May 12, 2006

socks and cuffs

Ok, I've finished up the sock, I did not cast on #2, but since i only know how to cast on socks 1 way in 1 incriment, i think i'll be fine. I finished cuff #1 and am most of the way through cuff #2 (like 4 more rows to go) then the belt. I'm thinking that the belt will take me forever. We'll see. Then the making up. I am still trying to decide if this will go up for sale or if it will be a Christmas gift. isnt that GREAT!!! Its May and I'm already thinking of Christmas gifts. Yay me. Guess thats it for now. Have a great weekend.

OH, and Happy Mothers Day! It will be a very special one for me.
Mom - I love you, thanks for putting up with me for the last 30 years.

Adventures in SockWorld

Lets see, this is what my sock looks like now:

Please notice the very nice ribbing on the upper edge. It looks like its supposed to and I am thrilled. I made the heel flap longer than the book suggested (taking Stephanie's advice) and i think it will fit better then the shorter heel flaps have been doing. About 5 more inches or so and that'll do it. yeah. I will work on the sweater before doing another sock, promise! Well, I may just cast it on so I know it'll get done. See how I am. But thats ok.

Project update:
Unfortunate Sweater - back, 2 fronts, 2 sleeves, 2 collars and 1/5 of a cuff done. Still to do - 1 4/5 cuffs, pocket & belt.

Above sock.

Brangelina hat - Oh, didnt I tell you about that one? Oops. I had gotten that Wool-Ease Chunky in a heather green and took Purl's Brangelina hat recipe. I've gotten about 3 inches done on it. I dont know if I like how it's coming, but oh well, what can you do.

TEEEENY knit booties - 1 is done being knit, I just need to find my buttons, then make the other one. The other one is cast on and the strappy part is done, but thats it.

So Sweater, other sock, booties then hat. Thats the plan. We'll see how that goes.

This weekend's activities

We had so much fun, Travis, Jake, the sock and I! Oh, the sock, yeah about that... well I didnt want to bring the unfortunate sweater because i'd have to bring the book and scissors (which were in my purse anyway) and seaming, not exactly portable! So I started a sock. Patons Grace Mercerized cotton in Champagne. That stuff is wonderful to work with! Here is what the sock saw this weekend:

Saturday bright & early - Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom:

Swimming at our hotel - The All-Star Music. Staying there reminded me why I dislike them so much - it's little things like a TINY tv, no fridge, no dining button on the phone. Oh well, it was a fun trip anyway.

Saturday night we went to Raglan Road - the Irish pub at Pleasure Island that is open for supper. Shephards Pie - Yummo!
Here's the Irish dancer chick that Travis says will be his next ex-wife. Yeah, and she's in his league!

Sunday we met Hans, Kerry, Aliceon & Heather at Epcot for lunch at the Beirgarten in Germany. Jake and Aliceon had some serious conversations about getting married and having children. Jake will be 5 in June, Aliceon just turned 5. It was adorable. Really. Wouldnt they make THE most beautiful babies? I think so too.

I tried to get Heather to hold the sock, but she didnt really know what to do with it. She's 2... so it's ok.

Watching Jake & Aliceon picking oysters:

And the pearls (hehe, i almost typed purls... time to step away from the knitting): Aliceon's was 7mm, Jakes 7.75 mm. Guess that's extra big since the chick banged the little gong thing very excitedly. He's thrilled, can you tell?

On Sunday we played mini-golf at Santa's Winter Summerland - Winter side. Par 56, Travis: 57, Me: 62, Jake: 64. Yeah. The sock did not suffer hypothermia... it's a faux snow castle.

Travis and Jake went out on a Water Sprite - they had a blast. And got busted for Jake driving... TWICE! Silly boys. They boated, I knit. It was a fair trade.

Well, that's it - what I did on my weekend in 50 pictures or less! I am now on the round and round part of the foot. Once it's done i'll go back to the sweater that shall not be named.

This Weekend

So the Fondren 3 head to Disney tomorrow for 2 nights at the AllStar Music resort. No, its not my favorite resort but I really don't care, and of course if it was just Travis and I we would probably be in Port Orleans, but whatever. Our plans roughly include letting Jake go on Everest, meeting a friend, his wife and their 2 ADORABLE little girls for supper probably Sunday. Travis wants to stay on property but Hans suggested Boston Lobster Feast... All you can eat lobster for $35. And this is bad how? Travis is just concerned about getting lost or something. Makes sense to me - but I'm me and get lost in my office. I'm pretty excited though, it'll be nice. It's the first time we've ALL been and stayed over night. We really aren't putting to many expectations - just a park, maybe 2 and not for a long time each. The guys are renting a little water sprite for a boat ride and Jake is THRILLED about this. We told him that once he learned to swim without his floatie that we'd take him, and he reminded us of that! It'll be fun. I finished collar part A, and am 3/4 done with collar part B, then sleeve cuff a & b, then pocket and belt. I should be finished by, oh, Christmas. Actually, probably by Monday. here's hoping.

Today

Ok, so i worked a tiny bit on the collar last night after choir practice, but i have a long way to go. Fortunatly, today I have to go to Orlando for a site inspection and I will not be driving so thats about an hour and a half of crochet time. We'll see if i can get it somewhat done. Tonight is crochet group, that's always fun, and I should be able to get a little bit done there too. Guess thats about it for now.

Happy Anniversary

May 1, 1999 I walked down the aisle and married my best friend. 7 years later, here we are, with a 4 year old, cat, guinea pig and 2 hermit crabs. Life is good.

Yesterday was my anniversary and Jake was home sick with Travis. They picked me up and we went to Benigans for lunch. I was still full at dinner time and only had a baked potato.

On the way back to my office, we were driving along and saw this:

This was a VW bus, made into a convertable painted all rastafarian. The dude inside looked remotly like Tommy Chong and Grisley Adams' love child. It was amusing. I made Travis speed up so i could get this pic - since he was turning a different.

I have been working on the unfortunate sweater. I have back, 2 fronts, 2 sleeves and i'm working on the collar which is done seperatly then attached. I think the sleeve cuffs are like that too. Then the belt. Its going well, and i'm pretty sure i can hide the unfortunate part. Now i gotta figure out who will be getting it, since i'm 2 sizes too big. Maybe it'll be a Christmas gift, maybe i'll try to sell it at the craft fair this month, but May - not exactly sweater weather.

Well, that's it for now, have a good one.

Yippee

I finished these:

And they match eachother.... yeah!
I'm a little excited, can you tell? And like i said i started back on the unfortunate sweater last night after a minor little dalliance... I made 1 tiny little knit bootie. And dont let that mislead you - if i had found my buttons i would have made the other one! But I forgot to take a picture of it, and i didnt bring it with me to show you. it's SOOOOO tiny. No mom, that's not a hint at anything.
