Mom's Sweater

Lets just say that the cat REALLY likes Galaxy. Course any yarn will do but he really likes the taste of Galaxy. Anywho, mom's sweater is progressing nicely. I've finished front and back, stitched them together along with the shoulders and done the first of 2 rows of bottom edge. It's an interesting edging, it's done in boa and each stitch has 2 dc tog. They call it a puff stitch, but it's only 2 dcs so I wouldnt call it that, just 2 dc tog. Its nice and makes it look really full, they there is another row of that which I havent started yet. Then sleeves, sleeve edges and neck edge than i'm done. It's really taken a lot less time than I expected which is good. I want to give it to her for Christmas, but she'll be at the craft fair on the 11th and it'd be nice if she wore something I made - unless she wears the other sweater I made her. guess it'll depend on how cold it is that day.

Crochet group tonight, it's at a new coffee shop that sounds really nice. I've been being teased by a few friends because I guess it's a place that gay ladies meet up, but I understand they have good coffee and the gal that suggested it has a boyfriend and goes there often, so it cant be ALL gay. Should be fun in any case.

I guess that's it for now.

Project Update

Ok, here's what I have going right now.

The Godparents Christmas ghan - 99.8% done then I have to weave in about half the ends (the other half were already done, and since there are color changes every row there are 10 billion ends.

The Commission Booties - Cowboy bootie lady (Jessica) from the summer has ordered another pair of Cowboy booties in red and pink, and another pair of Fireman booties. I have completed 80% of 1 bootie out of four so guess i'm about 1/6 of the way done... thereabouts.

Mom's Christmas Sweater - So I brought the new Crochet Magazine with me on Thanksgiving and my Mom looked at it and since she calls them "catalougs" instead of patterns and she mentioned liking the pink one on the cover and th Stone River one made from Galaxy yarn. Since I couldnt find the bulky simply soft for the pink one I got the stuff (or most of it anyway) for the Stone River one on Shopping day at Michaels with my 25% off coupon. I've got the front and about half the back done so far, then sleeves and edging. It's going much quicker than I expected, I just hope it fits her. She's so tiny, but this sweater looks tiny too.. hopefully not too tiny.

Christening Gown - yep, still just 1 bootie top to go.

That's it. hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving.

The pink yarn tote

So i've been so envious of 2 of my crochet club members who have gotten the big Joanns rolling yarn tote. Didja know they have a pink one... my co-members did but were unable to find one. Saturday I was childless (he was at Animal Kingdom w/his grandma) and husbandless (he was working) so I went to Joanns. Honestly it was not my intention to buy the thing, it is $50 after all. There they were stacked on an endcap - a bunch of black rolling yarn totes... and 1 pink one... along with a sign that read $29.99. YIPPEE!! I put it in my basket without a second thought. Got to the register and it rang up $50, uh no ma'am, it's $29.99, there's a sign! Oh well, i had my coupon and rather than hold up the line I used my coupon which made it the same price. So now I have a pink rolling yarn tote for $29.99. yeah me. I rolled it into work w/my afghan and 3 skeins of yarn inside and i'm ready for my lunchtime crocheting. Just thought i'd share.

The last craft fair

Saturday 11/5th's craft fair went really well, I sold about $65 and one of the other gals sold about $70 which was great. The other gal that came out didnt sell anything, but she hasnt lost hope on it which is good. We are planning another fair in a few weeks which I understand is a really busy one so we are all excited about it. The downside - $107 and I said I'd kick in $50 and the other 2 can split the rest. I pray that it goes well! Strange stuff sold too - someone bought my "walmart bag rug" for $20 and Dani sold an all cotton kitchen cafe curtain she made for her own kitchen but it was too small for $40! Of course the normal stuff sold - scrunchies, flip flops, halters, and a poncho set. Couple dish cloths went so I'm making up a few more of those sets to put out, and if they dont sell... no problem they will be Christmas gifts for my co-workers. I've been working on the Christmas ghan, it's about 3 feet so far. I ran out of the sage yarn last night so today I did 1 row of white and started tucking in ends - yippee.... i HATE doing that. Oh well, goes with the territory I suppose. It would have been helpful to not have changed colors on EVERY row and not had as many ends to tuck in!

I got the paperwork to submit the angora baby dress into the fair, I think everyone from our group is submitting something which will be nice. I just want to be able to put "award winning" on my business cards! That and the only awards I've ever gotten were for things like cheerleading where Everyone got awards... nothing that I was ever judged for. nervous, a little but terribly excited! Now I need to think of a few other things to enter.

I sent out my scrunchies to my scrunchie swap partner, hope she likes them! I cant wait to get mine, especially since i'm a scrunchie-a-holic. I just got "The shop on Blossom St" in the mail today, I orderd it 2nd hand for 1.99. Nothing like stories about yarn right... too bad it's knitting! well, ttfn.
