It's Friday

And the bosses are out and I have no real work to do. I've blogstalked, pogo'd, griddled, wandered and eaten a doughnut (after my weight control oatmeal which, incidently, tastes like ass) (no I dont know how I know what ass tastes like). Tra, my crochet buddy, called me and told me she has no internet at work today so i cant chat with her. I saw dani log on, and maybe i'll chat with her in a bit. I could be working on the little skinny scarf I started yesterday during amc, but I have to at least LOOK like I'm working, so here I am.

Project Update: chenille afghan - I worked on it a bit at Wednesday's meeting, it's about 3 feet long now. It's really soft and cozy and I love working on it because I dont have to think about it which is very nice. Baby set - I finished the jacket for the most part, I need to get buttons (or scavange buttons) and weave in the ends. I couldnt do that here because I didnt bring my cult case (rolling yarn tote) which has my yarn needles in it. This will be saved for another day when I need to feel like I've accomplished something (even though this little task will only take like 20 minutes). - I started the bonnet in the pattern book, and it looks like mt everest instead of a hat so I've momentarily given up on it, at least until I have a day where I can frog it back out and start again. Christening Set - I actually brought the dress in here to show Sue the temp. It seems small, I know it fit my doll, but to look at it now... I'm not sure. I still have the top of 1 bootie to do on that set, then add the ribbon to the booties & bonnet. Socks - yeah, well, you know. I did one sock (pasting together 2 patterns - the one that doesnt make sense from the calander and another one for the actual body stitches. I like the calander idea of starting at the toe, working your way up and skipping the heel until afterwards. It fit until I tried to put the heel on, now it's like an inch too big. SOOOO, I will eventually have to rip out the heel and try again. Why is it so difficult to make a sock pattern that makes SENSE!!! I only say that because I'm not actually writting the patterns. Grandma & Pop Pop's 50th Anniversary Vow Renewal Cake - Yeah, I know it's not exactly a crochet project but it is due tomorrow. Last night I made 2 batches of icing - the actual icing kind and the making flowers and other crap kind. They are both now resting comfortable in my fridge. Tonight I will make at least 4 of the 6 layers of cake needed (2 6", 2 8 or 9", 2 10 or 12"). Since I can fit 2 layers in my oven at a time but only have 1 of every size except 2 8", it will take me a while. My M-I-L is keeping Jake tonight which is good since last night he kept looking for the cake in the oven (which wasnt there) and couldnt understand why I had made so much icing but no cake? Silly Mommy! Worried - yeah, a bit because it's been a couple years since I've made a real cake. I couldnt even get into it for Jake's b-day this year. Here's a pic of his last years cake:

I was so proud of that cake!

Anyway, Tracie just came online so I guess i'll post this and chat with her. Happy Hooking.
